- The reason for a somewhat angriness and aggressiveness in men’s nature is the Testosterone Hormone. And the reason for a softness and emotionally more attached in women’s nature is Estrogen Hormone.
- Estrogen works in various parts of the brain (especially the limbic system, amygdala, hippocampus), which control emotion, memory, empathy, etc. As a result, under the influence of Estrogen, a person becomes comparatively compassionate and sensitive.
- Furthermore, Estrogen increases sensitivity to the hormone Oxytocin which is known as love hormone too.
- Men have small amounts of Estrogen, but those who are obese have more Fat in their bodies, meaning they have more Adipocytes.
Inside these Adipocytes lies an important enzyme – the Aromatase enzyme, which can produce estrogen from androgens (like testosterone).
Therefore, due to having more adipose tissue in fatty men, aromatase activity is comparatively higher, resulting in a slight increase in estrogen concentration in their blood.
This excess estrogen affects the brain, particularly the limbic and amygdala pathways. As a result, they become comparatively calm and emotionally expressive, meaning, soft-hearted like women.
